New Design for the Site

If you are visiting the site to see this page, you’ll see a new design around this. A much cleaner and simple site. Also it is cleaner from a maintenance point of view, which will help me in the future.

Also a small change to the URL of the site, now www.littleknownsoftware.com goes to the page about the software and this blog is at www.littleknownsoftware.com/blog. However, most of the links should still redirect to the right place.

Hope you like it.

Problem with Exchange Accounts

SignatureProfiler is apparently not compatible with Exchange Accounts in Mail. This means that if you have an Exchange Account, you should not use SignatureProfiler at all!

I’ve had a couple of reports indicating that if SignatureProfiler is installed and an Exchange Account is active, it will have problems syncing data and moving messages.

Unfortunately I have no time to fix this right now, so the short term solution is to not use SignatureProfiler if you have an Exchange Account. Or don’t use you Exchange Account, but that seems less likely :-p.

It will eventually be fixed, but I cannot yet say when.

Snow Leopard and SignatureProfiler

Many of you have written to let me know that the plugin no longer works with Snow Leopard. This is definately the case – there are several things that have changed with the newest version of Mail and these have affected SignatureProfiler’s ability to load properly. You hav, of course, asked about an update to support Snow Leopard. I am looking into providing a quick fix to get it working on the new version, but I cannot give you any specific date yet. I will post a new message on the blog and the SignatureProfiler homepage when the update is available. Please check back regularly.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvience.

Leopard Release… Not yet

Hello there. Well, I am sorry to say that it is taking me longer than I had hoped to get this release out that will support Leopard. I think it could actually still be 2 more weeks.

The reason actually does have much to do with Leopard either. I was in the middle of some fairly substantial internal changes to the plugin. Of course, once I made the changes necessary for Leopard to function, some other fairly nasty bugs show up in both Tiger and Leopard, meaning that my newer version isn’t stable enough for release, even though the Leopard issues have been addressed.

I will try this weekend to update the last released version of the code for Leopard and release that if I can do it by Monday evening. That will be a temporary version of SignatureProfiler, but at least people will be able to use it.

Thanks for your patience!

Leopard and SignatureProfiler…

Well, as I write this Leopard is about to be released in Europe and has already hit people’s machines in places like Australia and Japan. The obvious question is will the SignatureProfiler plugin work properly with Leopard Mail.app. The quick answer is “no”, unfortunately. I had tested it in a previous version of Leopard and it seemed to work fine, but now it doesn’t. I will take the next week and try to resolve the issue and release a new version.

Please stay tuned…
